Maysan Expected to Increase Oil Production to 1 Million br/day

Maysan Oil Company officials predicted that oil production from the company’s oilfields will reach about one million barrels per day at the end of 2016.

 Oilfields Authority manager in Maysan stated that “ this came due to the completion of the oil operations infrastructure projects”. Indicating that “ the oil wells total number in Noor and Amara oilfields reached 21 while it was 5 in 2008, and this production will reflect positively in the country’s economy”.

Halfaya Oilfield Operation Authority manager confirmed “ the completion of the first phase of the oilfield’s development plan by the foreign investing companies to reach to total of 100,000 barrel per day oil production capacity”.

Indicating that the third phase will include increasing production to 500,000 barrel per day”. He added to Iraq Al-Hurr radio “ that there are more than 60 oil wells completed in Halfaya oilfield, some already in the production process and others are in the second stage”.

The current production capacity of MOC oilfield is 250,000 barrel per day, two Chinese companies are considered as the main developers PetroChina and CNOOC, in addition to partners and other minor companies and subcontractors.
